I wished I was there…

I wished I was the one on the bike, lining on the start line, pulling the accelerator on max causing a vroom voice all over the place, shooting daggers at Ryo who was doing the smirk I despise

But I was glad that it’s my best friend who is out there, doing all those things for me.

The flag was down, the race was on

They started to speed off, Koki was on the lead, and for a moment I thought he’s going to win the race, Ryo was just a few meters behind him. I couldn’t believe it, not that I doubt my friend’s racing skill, but it’s just too easy for a Nishikido Ryo to be loosing this fast. I was right, just when I thought Koki is actually going to win, on the last turn Ryo speed up, and just a few meters from the finish line he passed Koki. I could feel a smirk I hate the most under that helmet; I could also hear Koki cursed.

When I approached them on the finish line, I could hear Ryo laugh, a mocking victorious laugh.

“Did you actually think you were going to win?” He said, mocking at my friend

 “How does it feel? You know, almost winning?” Ryo continued sarcastically.

I know Koki was just an inch away from hitting that jerk, but before he could do that I grabbed him by his chest and pulled him back.

“Just ignore him! Don’t waste your energy”

“Yea, God knows you need a lot of them!” He mocked again “And how’s crippled over here? aww, you finally get out from that crutches? That’s good, can’t wait to beat you too!”

“You think we don’t know Nishikido? We know it was you who jammed Ueda’s bike!” Koki said angrily

“I don’t to do such thing; he’s as reckless as he is! That accident is purely his fault, for being such as looser”

Before Koki was bout to give him another attempt of punching his face, I pulled him back again

“Let me go Ueda! I’ll show him a lesson!”

“Just ignore him, let’s go! You promised to take me to your friend remember?”

With that said, I dragged Koki away from Ryo, who I could hear was laughing full of triumph. Well actually I also dragged my self; I almost lost it out there and so close on hitting that jerk.

“Why do you have to stop me for hitting him? He deserves it! Especially after what he did to you” Koki questioned as we walked back to his bike.

“It’s not proven that he did it Koki” I found my self in disbelief, I actually defended that jerk

“But everyone knows it was him, he always envies you and tries anything to win against you, it doesn’t take a genius to know that it was Nishikido who jammed on your bike, and cause you that!” Koki pointed at my leg.

I looked down, and the memory was flashing again.

It was almost two months ago. I was on a race, Nishikido was also on it. And as usual we had a mouth fight before the race, and I could remember his last words before the flag was down

“You’re dead this time Ueda!” With that he rolled off.

At first he was on the lead, but I finally was able to pass him on the second turn, when suddenly I felt something on my bike, I cannot control it. My bike hit the commercial board, but I managed to jump before that. I could see my bike crashed real badly, I couldn’t imagine if I was still on it. I was lucky enough to got out with just some bruises and a minor injury on my leg

“Yea, but its okay now. The doctor said I could ride again. And I’m planning on taking my revenge on Nishikido at the next week race”

“He almost killed you, you know”

I sighed. The technical team found out that my bike has been jammed, and everybody thinks it was Ryo who did it. Of course he denied it.

“Koki” I said when we reached Koki’s bike “Can I drive? It’s been a while, I miss the feeling” I said pleading

Koki smiled, I’m glad he understood “Sure”

We rolled of to Koki’s friend workshop. Koki was going to introduce me to his friend; he does some modification on bikes, and he said he has something for me.

Gosh I just love motorbikes, its way cooler than cars. Motor bike solves almost all of my problem. When ever I’m feeling down I just grabbed my bike and headed to somewhere only the wind knows.

I could feel the chilly breeze brushed against my jacket, and nothing could change the feeling of adrenalin rush, the tense as I maneuvered making bee line between cars.

“Woo…easy there Ueda, I’m not planning on dying yet”

Instead, I speed up more

“Uedaaa!!!, that’s it! This is the last time I’m on the passenger’s seat”

When we got to the workshop it was almost dawn

“Yo man! What’s up?” Koki greeted his friend in his gangster way

“Chillin! So this is your friend?” His friend answered. He looked at me from head to toe. He was a big man, with tattoos covered almost his entire body.

“Ueda Tatsuya desu, Yoroshiku!” I bowed. He just laughed and shoved my shoulder playfully

“He’s too pretty to be a racer”

I pouted with that comments. He’s not the first one, and I really hate that comment.

“Koki told me you need a new bike?”

“Yea…mine was pretty wrecked”

“I know, Koki told me about the accident! You’re pretty lucky!”

“I guess so”

“Well here are some bikes I’ve worked on…you just pick your girl”

I looked around there were some cool modified bikes, All seemed good and I bet they are all beast on the road. But somehow they don’t quite catch my attention, until I laid my eyes on the one that was on the far corner. The sun light from the hole on the roof shined on it, giving a spot light effect on it.

It was love at the first sight.

“Aaahhh….just as I thought, you’re friend here sure has a high taste Koki” the man commented as he saw me setting my eyes on that bike.

I walked closer to the bike, I touched it and I could feel my heart beating faster, I could imagine riding it, the feeling I longed for ever since my accident had finally returned.

“This baby here is my masterpiece. 1000 cc Honda Firestorm engine. Main body was Kawasaki Ninja, with a little work here and there, She’s gonna be the princess of the road” The main informed

I could hear Koki laughed at that “Princess? Oh that bike will suit you just fine Ueda”

She was beautiful, sharp edges, pure metallic black with red lines on the velg. She was so much better that my old bike. I’m gonna missed that bike though. But this one, this one was just so perfect

“I want this” I said firmly

“That one’s gonna cost you a little bit”

“Just name the price dude, he’s Ueda Tatsuya, His dad owns half of the city” Koki spoke for me

“Really?”

I couldn’t exactly hear what they were saying, not that I paid any attention on it anyway, but I know it’s about money, so I absent mindedly took out my wallet and handed my unlimited platinum credit card to Koki, my eyes were still fixed on the bike. Sometimes I’m so glad my dad's rich

“Well then she’s yours” I could hear the man said

“I need to settle some paper work before you could take her home. Don’t worry; you will have her delivered tomorrow. Nice doing business with you Ueda-kun!”

I couldn’t wait until tomorrow. To be able to ride again, even by riding Koki’s bike I could feel I’m alive again. I’m sure I will have a blast riding my new bike tomorrow. And I can wait to stick my winning cup on Nishikido’s nose when I win next week.

I sleep with a huge smile that night.
