Ueda groaned in pain “It hurts Ryo!”

“Yeah I know, but stop squeezing my hand! I’m driving here!” Ryo groaned, equally in pain. Ueda’s hand was gripping his left hand which was on the gear stick. Ryo was unable to concentrate on the road while he was being tortured by Ueda who was squeezing, twisting and occasionally scratching his arms. “Are you trying to break my wrist princess?”

“It’s all because of you!” Ueda said in between screams. He tried to breathe but the pain on his stomach was too great, he couldn’t handle it.

“Me? What did I do?” Ryo asked as he tried so hard to keep his eyes open, the pain on his hand made him wince.

“You knocked me out you idiot!” Ueda snapped angrily.

“We were drunk!” Ryo defended, “It’s not my fault you couldn’t resist me!” Ueda squeezed harder, causing Ryo to scream and almost hit his car. To cut a long story short, Ueda was making sure Ryo felt the same pain, the whole way to the hospital.

When they arrived at the hospital, Ryo called the nurse on duty to take Ueda right away. Before he breaks my arm, Ryo thought. But his suffering had not ended yet, when the nurses took Ueda away on the hospital bed, Ueda grabbed Ryo by the wrist, squeezing it hard. “You are so dead Nishikido!” Ueda groaned again, but he didn’t forget to hurt Ryo as he did so, “I’m so going to kill you after this!” he threatened.

The nurses gave a knowing look, “They do that a lot, its normal. The mother always wants to kill the father due to the pain.”

“I AM NOT THE MOTHER!” a punch landed on Ryo’s cheek.

“Why the hell are you punching me for? He’s the one who said it.” Ryo complained, rubbing his bruised cheek.

“But he’s the one who is going to help me deliver this baby you moron!” Ueda retorted, and then his hand went back to gripping Ryo’s.

They stopped in front of the surgery room, and a doctor was already waiting “I’m sorry sir, but you cannot come into the surgery room.”

“But I’m the father.”

“He’s going to have caesarean surgery, so there is no use for you to be inside.”

Ryo hesitantly nodded, he slowly freed his hand from Ueda’s grip. “But Ryo…” Ueda said pleading Ryo not to leave him.

“Wait!” Ryo stopped them when they were about to enter the surgery room, he approached Ueda again and kissed his forehead. “Everything is going to be okay, trust me. I’ll be waiting outside.” He assured Ueda, and miraculously Ueda became a bit calmer and he nodded.

Ryo was waiting outside the surgery room anxiously. It had been hours, he thought, and they still hadn’t finished. He had called their friends earlier, telling them that Ueda was in labor. Kame and Jin arrived together shortly after that, they seemed to have just finished their practice.

“Ryo-chan!” Jin called, his voice echoing through the hallway.

“Jin, stop shouting on the hospital!” Kame smacked his boyfriend’s head. “How is Ueda Ryo?” he asked as he approached the anxious man.

“He is still inside. They’re not done yet.” Ryo said, pointing to the door behind him.

“Calm down. It’s going to be okay.” Kame said to comfort him.

“Yeah I know, I’m just worried.”

“Aaww…Ryo-chan is going to be a daddy!!” Jin practically pounced on Ryo.

“Get off me bakanishi!”

After what it seemed like forever for Ryo, the door finally opened, revealing a man with a blue uniform who came closer to him.  

“Congratulations! You are a father now, and the baby is a boy.” The doctor congratulated him.

They cheered and Ryo couldn’t be more relieved and happy upon hearing the good news.

“Wait, what? A boy?” he then realized something.

The doctor nodded and a nurse came out with the baby in her hands. “Meet your son Nishikido-kun,” she smiled, showing the newborn baby to Ryo.

“B-but it was supposed to be a girl” Ryo couldn’t believe his eyes, seeing a baby boy in front of him.

“No Nishikido-kun it’s a boy,” the doctor convinced him.

The nurse approached Ryo and gestured Ryo to hold the baby. “He is so cute,” Ryo held the baby in his arms and smiled.

“Uwaa~~ kawaiii~~!” Jin squealed, and Kame smacked his head again.

After a few more minutes of Jin’s squealing, Kame’s smiling and Ryo’s grinning as they admired the baby, the nurse took the baby to the baby’s room. They informed them that they had also moved Ueda to his room.

Ryo stayed beside Ueda’s bed, waiting for Ueda to regain his consciousness.

“Ryo?” Ueda recognized the man beside him as he slowly opened his eyes.

“Hey…” Ryo smiled, greeting the older man. “Are you okay?”

Ueda nodded weakly, “E-Eri?” was the first thing Ueda asked.

“Eri is fine,” Ryo answered.

“I want to see her,” Ueda requested. Ryo nodded and gave a sign to the nurse standing near them to get the baby.

“About our baby Ueda…” Ryo said while waiting for the nurse to return with their baby.

Ueda was worried by the tone Ryo was using. “What about her? She is fine right? Two hands and two legs? Not missing a thing?”

Ryo smiled, ruffling Ueda’s hair and Ueda couldn’t help but feel relaxed by the touch. “Yes, the baby is fine. It’s just that …” before Ryo could finish explaining, the nurse came back with the baby.

She gave the baby for Ueda to hold, “Oh my God, she’s so cute Ryo!” Ueda said, almost squealing like Jin. “Out baby is so cute!” Ryo smiled not having a chance to explain to Ueda, he was so happy with the view of Ueda and the baby in his hand.

“Ryo?” Ueda started a few moments later.

“Yeah?”

“How come Eri, our baby girl, has a teeny weeny thingy down there?” Ueda said in confusion, a little afraid and disbelieving.

“Well…that’s because HE is not a girl.” Ryo answered, a little too afraid to say his own answer.

“What?” Ueda almost screamed “But you said our baby was a girl!”

“Well I never said that technically,” Ryo reasoned.

“YOU said that!”

“I just said that I DREAMT of having a baby girl,” Ryo defended, “We never checked his gender before anyway.”

“That’s because YOU were pretty sure it’s a girl!” Ueda snapped, and the baby started crying. “Sshh…baby its okay, I’m just arguing with your daddy because he’s being an idiot.” Ueda rolled his eyes at Ryo.

Ryo wanted to retort but seeing that Ueda was cooing the baby lovingly, he resisted the urge and smiled at the view.

“A boy or a girl, he’s still our baby, and God is he cute!” Ueda said in admiration.

Ryo reached his hand to caress the baby’s cheeks lovingly “Yep! And he’s going to be a very handsome boy. Just like his daddy.” Ueda rolled his eyes at Ryo’s comment.

After Ueda rocked the baby in his hand gently, he finally stopped crying. “Ryo, we can’t call our baby boy Eri can we?”

“Yeah, we need a new name.” Ryo agreed.

“Since I got to name him last time, this time you choose.” Ueda said, giving permission to Ryo and a grin grew on Ryo’s face.

“Really?” Ryo asked in disbelief.

“Yeah, really.” Ueda nodded.

“Any name I want?” He asked almost too happy.

“Any.” Ueda nodded again.

“I want to name him Ryo then.” He inquired

“What?”

“Well I couldn’t think of any better boy name other than Ryo.” Ryo reasoned.

“I am not going to call our son Ryo!” Ueda snapped.

“Why not? It’s a good name!”

“It’s your name!”

“Well he’s going to be Nishikido Ryo junior then”

“Well Tatsuya it’s a good name too, and he can be UEDA Tatsuya junior!” Ueda retorted, emphasizing the family name.

“Ryo is better, and it’s NISHIKIDO!”

“Tatsuya!”

“Ryo!”

“Tatsuya!”

“You said I can name him anything I want!”

“Not YOUR name!”

“Ryo!”

“Tatsuya!”

“Ryo!”

“Tatsuya!”

Another scream echoed through the room again, and the baby in Ueda’s hand became uncomfortable hearing the noise and he cried again.

“Ssshh…sorry sweetheart…” Ueda rocked the baby to calm him again.

After a few minutes the baby stopped crying. “Ne, I have an idea.” Ueda said as he caressed the baby’s cheek, still couldn’t stop admiring the cuteness in his arms.

“He’s not going to be Tatsuya.” Ryo warned.

Ueda rolled his eyes, “and he’s definitely not going to be Ryo,” Ueda answered. “Besides, that’s not what I have in mind.” He caressed the baby again, and he couldn’t stop smiling. “Let’s name him Ryu.” Ueda suggested.

“Ryu?”

“Yeah, Ryu sounds like your name, and it has the same kanji as my name, dragon” Ueda explained.

“Ryu..” Ryo uttered the name, trying to get used to the sound of it. “Ryu sounds good.”

Ueda smiled “It’s Ryu then.” he stared at the baby lovingly “Hey Ryu, Welcome to the world my precious one,” he greeted before kissing the baby lovingly.

After a few days of being hospitalized, Ueda was finally home. He still had a few weeks of maternity leave, but Ryo still had to work.

“Tadaima~” Ryo said when he opened the door to Ueda’s apartment, a place he could call his home now that he had officially moved in. Ryo had decided to move, to be closer to his son.

Seeing no reply from Ueda, he walked further inside the apartment, and found the door to Ryu’s room opened. He came closer and found Ueda sitting on a rocking chair, rocking the baby to sleep.

“Okaeri~” Ueda greeted him in a whispering voice, afraid to wake the sleeping baby in his arms.

Ryo smiled and leaned on the door frame as he took in the view of Ueda and their baby. Such a beautiful sight, he thought.

After making sure that the baby was sleeping soundly, Ueda put him down to his baby bed. Ryo approached them and kissed the baby good night.

“I can’t stop admiring him Ryo, he’s so cute.” Ueda said before he too kissed the baby lovingly.

“Of course he is, he’s my son,” Ueda rolled his eyes, but before he could smack Ryo’s head, Ryo added “and yours.”

Ueda smiled and returned his gaze to Ryu, he still couldn’t stop smiling. “Ne Ryo..” he started.

“Hmm?”

“Are you disappointed?” he asked. His eyes were now looking at the man standing beside him.

Ryo was confused with Ueda’s question. “With what?”

“With the fact that our baby is a boy, not a girl as you had expected and wished for?”

Ryo sighed, “Honestly, when the doctor said it was a boy, I kind of was.” Ryo said honestly, “but when I saw him, all those thoughts flew away. I mean look at him, how can I be disappointed with him?” he leaned down to caress the baby’s cheek.

“I’m glad you feel so, because I love him a lot too,” Ueda said, feeling content with Ryo’s answer.

Ryo smiled at him, “but you know…” he stood up again, “I still want Eri.”

 “What do you mean?” Ueda tilted his head in confusion.

Ryo grabbed Ueda by the waist and pulled him closer, smirking before capturing his lips. “I mean,” he began, kissing Ueda fully on the lips, “Why don’t you tell that little fairy of yours…” he continued, stopping only to kiss Ueda’s neck. Ueda moaned at the touch. Oh how long had he waited to feel Ryo’s lips again. “...to do her hocus pocus thing…” Ryo captured Ueda’s lips again,  and was awarded by a moan from the older man as he trailed kisses down Ueda’s jaw line “…on what we were about to do tonight.” He finished his sentence, kissing, nibbling and sucking the soft skin on Ueda’s neck.

Ueda moaned in pleasure. “I’ll make sure she does that.” he managed to say after trying so hard to utter something other than moaning sound, as he felt so lost in pleasure at Ryo’s touch.

“And this time, make sure it’s a girl.” Ryo added, slowly pushing Ueda down to the carpet and attacking him again.

“R-ryo….not….not here.” Ueda tried to say between moans, “not in Ryu’s room.”

“Let him hear his parents making love” Ryo smirked pervertedly.

“M-making…love?” Ueda asked, confused by the term Ryo was using. A slight glint of hope grew in his heart. Maybe this wouldn’t be just sex after all.

Ryo stopped and digested what his own mouth had said.  He did say making love. Was that what they were doing? He was hesitated at first, but seeing the beauty lying under him, and feeling the how fast his heart beat was at that moment, he knew for sure what that was. He leaned down again and whispered on Ueda’s ear, causing the man to shudder, “Yeah, making love.” he confirmed before kissing Ueda again.

Soon Ryu was awake due to the uncontrollable moaning sound coming from his room. But that didn’t stop his parents.
